Another Major Award for Missouri's Top Course

Buffalo Ridge Springs Named Best in State by GOLF Magazine

For the second consecutive time, the Buffalo Ridge Springs course at Big Cedar Lodge, a premier outdoor destination in the Ozark Mountains of Missouri, has been heralded as the best public golf course in the state of Missouri by GOLF Magazine in its state-by-state ranking of courses you can play. The list is a biennial ranking of the best public-access courses in each state which appeared in the September issue. Buffalo Ridge maintains its top ranking from 2014, strengthening Big Cedar Lodge's place in the golf industry and solidifying the resort's long-term commitment to golf.

Formerly known as Branson Creek, the course was originally designed by renowned golf course architect Tom Fazio. In 2013, the course was purchased by Johnny Morris, founder & CEO of Bass Pro Shops and Big Cedar Lodge, which ignited his vision for golf in the Ozarks. Together with Fazio, Morris redesigned the course from 2014-2015 to uncover natural rock formations, enhance existing water features, rebuild all bunkers throughout the course and highlight the natural beauty of the Ozarks. The course was reborn as Buffalo Ridge Springs in June of 2014, in advance of the Bass Pro Shops Legends of Golf.

"We are humbled and honored by this accolade from one of the most prestigious publications in the golf industry," says Eric Smith, head golf professional at Big Cedar Lodge. "This ranking is a testament to Johnny Morris and the entire team at Big Cedar Lodge as we strive to create one of the best golf experiences in the state, and throughout the country. Golf is a natural extension of the Big Cedar Lodge experience and we will continue to build upon this ranking as we introduce two new courses at the resort over the next two years."

Memberships Available for the 2017 Season at Boulder Ridge CC, Lake in The Hills, IL

Fuzzy Zoeller - designed Private Gem Rolls Through Illinois Heartland

From its gracefully curving fairways to its immaculately manicured greens, Boulder Ridge Golf Course bears the unmistakable mark of a champion. That champion is Fuzzy Zoeller, former winner of the Masters and U.S. Open, who has lent his personal touch to this spectacular 27-hole course.

What makes a good golf course truly great? According to Fuzzy, a course must be flexible enough to equally challenge both amateur and professional. It must be as beautiful to look at as it is to play. The course must be spacious and wide open, with water providing a refreshing backdrop rather than a frustrating hazard. And above all, a great golf course must withstand the test of time, providing a golfer as much enjoyment on his or her fiftieth outing as it did on the very first.

It was this, Fuzzy's personal philosophy, which guided Lohmann Golf Design in the creation of Boulder Ridge's par-72 course. Sculpted out of the Illinois heartland, this 7,000-yard private course pays tribute to the game through its respect for both nature and golfer alike.

Spread out over acres, the expansive course plays much larger than the average course. Each hole features multiple tee locations attracting players of all levels. Paved tee-to-green cart paths weave throughout the entire course, while strategically placed bunkers enhance the landscape, as well as the game.

Thanks to the combined efforts of Lohmann Golf Design, Fuzzy Zoeller and Plote Homes, Boulder Ridge represents everything a great golf course should be.

Oakcreek Country Club is a Robert Trent Jones Sr. & Jr. Masterpiece

Championship Layout Might Remind You of the Midwest

Come and experience one of Arizona's true golfing treasures.

The premier of Sedona Arizona golf courses, the Oakcreek Country Club is an 18 hole championship golf course nestled in the majestic Sedona red rocks. Designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. and Robert Trent Jones Jr., this Sedona, Arizona golf course is truly a masterpiece featuring Sedona red rock views beyond compare.

This Sedona, Arizona golf course is a traditional layout similar to those that you may find in the Midwestern United States. In the usual Trent Jones manner, the fairways are classic tree lined doglegs with fairway bunkers strategically placed in the landing areas, and the greens are all slightly elevated and surrounded with large swirling green side bunkers. The golf course is "player friendly", allowing plenty of room for error but always with an opportunity to recover and get errant shots back into play.

"Every hole must be a hard par and an easy bogey" - Robert Trent Jones Sr.

TPC Las Vegas Interview

Top Las Vegas Golf Course Partners With JW Marriott For Packages

Local and traveling golfers love to research courses before playing them, whether it is to gain some local knowledge or to set an expectation before their upcoming round. Below is an interview with Joe Massanova who shares some valuable insight about the property, its most talked about holes and the signature dish/drink to consume at the 19th hole.

How Does Your Course Differ From The Others In The Area?
The TPC Las Vegas is a PGA TOUR Facility. We are the Home of Professional Golf in Las Vegas and carry with us the highest standards of operation in the golf industry. Guests from all over the world can count on our quality and value as their key to a great golf experience in Las Vegas.

For someone who has not played the course in awhile, has there been any new changes/renovations to the course or property? The TPC Grille has undergone a renovation which has included new carpet, painting, furniture and a completely new bar. A new tee box has been added to hole #12 and it has been lengthened from 148 to 169 yards. Several areas of turf have been transformed back to native desert landscaping on holes 8, 11, 16, 17.

What is your course's answer to Amen Corner? (Describe your best/hardest 3 back/back/back holes)
Located strategically on our back nine, with the best and most scenic views of Red Rock Canyon, holes 12-15 represent Las Vegas Golf at its finest. It is here where our community gets its name as a mini "Canyon" winds through this part of the course, creating a wonderful routing of holes and brilliant forced carries. This stretch starts out on hole 12 with an island green surrounded by desert. Originally playing 148 yards, Hale Irwin once had to hit a 5 iron. Hole 13 is a par four with multiple sets of tee boxes, some of which have the player carrying their tee shot over a large canyon. Others are below the fairway, demanding an uphill tee shot, out of the canyon. Hole 14 is one of our signature holes and while not the longest, it does provide for an exciting blind tee shot to a generous, hidden fairway. Hole 15 is a true 3 shot par 5 with a canyon lining the right side of the fairway. Accuracy off the tee is required as well as an accurate approach shot to a smaller than average green. Good luck, many rounds have been won or lost through this wonderful stretch of holes.
