Harris, Michigan's Sweetgrass receives national recognition from Golfweek and GOLF Magazine.
Sweetgrass Golf Club scored a No. 24 ranking among America's Best Casino Golf Courses, released by Golfweek Magazine. It is the fifth national award that the Upper Peninsula-based course has received since opening in mid 2008. Located at the Island Resort & Casino, it is managed by the Hannahville Band of the Potawatomi Nation.
The listing was accompanied by a detailed review of the course by known golf course architecture expert Brad Klein, who used words such as elegant, fascinating, solid and enjoyable to describe the Paul Albanese design.
The 7,275-yard, par-72 layout was also added to GOLF Magazine's "Best Courses Near You" ranking, listing Sweetgrass among the 20 best public courses in Michigan. Opened in 2008, the course complements the Casino's complete offering of year-round gaming, 275 hotel rooms, dining, live entertainment and conference center. Visit www.islandresortandcasino.com.
