Grand Traverse Resort & Spa Introduces New Golf Academy

Instruction by 2008 PGA National Professional Champion Scott Hebert

Grand Traverse Resort & Spa near Traverse City, Mich. has announced the introduction of their all new Grand Traverse Resort & Spa Golf Academy, featuring 2008 PGA Professional National Champion, six-time Michigan Open Champion, and U.P. Sports Hall of Fame 2011 Inductee Scott Hebert as Director of Instruction.

"With our new Golf Academy, we offer golfers of all ages and levels of ability, from beginner to scratch, the opportunity to learn from PGA Professionals who have played competitive golf, and know what it takes to win," said the Resort's Director of Golf, Tom McGee. "Whether you want to refresh your swing, sharpen your fundamentals, or gain confidence for your next golf outing, some of the finest professional golf instruction in Michigan is found right here."

The Grand Traverse Resort & Spa Golf Academy is open April-September and offers private instruction as well as one-day, two-day, and three-day schools, public clinics, on-course instruction, corporate clinics, team builds, ladies-only schools and clinics, junior camps, junior clinics, golf academy memberships, and club fitting.

Grand Traverse Resort & Spa has one of the most advanced learning facilities that golf instruction has to offer," commented Hebert. "The Golf Academy is housed in a 2,000 square-foot building that features three heated, indoor-outdoor hitting bays equipped for video and computer analysis, so regardless of the weather, the Golf Academy will be open and schools will be in session."

The Golf Academy combines training by Hebert and Lead Instructors/PGA Professionals Lee Houtteman and Terry Crick, with the latest digital video and computer equipment to analyze golf swings for an instant evaluation that can lead to dramatic breakthroughs in a golfer's game. Video analysis is included with instruction as well as a video review with all instruction for the student to keep.

"Whether a lesson or a complete school, our goal is for golfers to leave with a full understanding of their swing and a great game plan for further improvement, whether it's full swing, short game, putting, or another aspect of the game," said Hebert.

The Golf Academy's schedule of one-, two-, and three-day schools begins April 21. In addition, Grand Traverse Resort & Spa is proud to have been selected as a site for the PGA Tour Academy Junior Golf Camps for boys and girls, ages 10-17, of all skill levels. Camps are planned for June 12-16, June 19-23, and August 14-18.
