Michigan Can Bring It When Golfers Come

By John Ehle

With more than 800 courses that the public can play, Michigan ranks in the top three states in terms of public and daily fee golf locations. The outdoors beckons when you live in the snow belt and folks who endure 200+ inches of snow per year are serious about their golf.

Michigan's varied topography ; sand dunes, dense forests and an abundance of water has made it "America's Golf Capital". Travel in Michigan is really an "up north" experience...perfect for family vacations as there is an abundance of outdoor activities which affords families a great opportunity to have a memorable experience together in all four seasons.

Michigan has prospered in terms of the design/construction of world class courses by the giants of the game. Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Tom Fazio, Arthur Hills, Tom Doak, Robert Trent Jones and Tom Weiskopf to name a few.
